Dirty secrets held inside.
Marks and bruises she must hide.
There is no where left to turn.
She is here alone.

Time and time she begged he stop,
each time his fists of steel did drop.
She cried until the tears ran dry.
She is here alone.

She lost the worldly things she owned,
soon found herself without a home.
Because he had a love for drugs.
She is here alone.

She believed in him when no one did.
Behind a wall of hope she hid.
Until the day she realized.
She is here alone.

An independant spirit falls.
A past member of these sacred halls.
She prays and thanks the lord above.
That she is here alone.

Someday I hope that I can write the words that have lain dormant so long inside while he controlled and took my power away. I have missed my poetry and hope that you will excuse this terrible first posting from a long forgotten poet.

You were missed, Lucie, but never forgotten. And I'm sorry your devotion was answered with such disappointment and pain... but glad you're writing again! Welcome back! *S*

Arms thrown wide and sending a big hug Lucie. Not a terrible write at all, far from it, it flows from the heart of someone that has suffered and overcome the horrors of abuse. Welcome to this forum and welcome to my heart dear friend!!

Lucie,

I know there is much sadness behind these words, but I am proud you posted them. it is never easy to talk about such things, but writing about it will help free you. Always remember, YOU are in control now. Wonderful work.

I was just asking about you the other day.
I'm so glad you're back!!

This is really sad, but I can sure relate to it. It's not bad at all, but puts across the true pain we go through.

I wrote one too, just a little while ago. I guess it's that time to come out.

To all my "old" and "new" friends. Thank you all for your words of welcome and support. I am still going through some transitional changes and believe it or not.. I miss the *******. I guess that just shows how skilled an abuser is at gaining control over somones life and emotions. But I will not give up in my quest for "self".

Look for me.. I won't be silenced any longer.

PS. Toerag.. that was the best offer I have had in a looooong time.. give me time to catch my bearings and I just might take you up on it.
