He touched me with deception
he spoke of love with lies
his promises were empty
he cares not that I cry

No reason and no rhyming
for taking it away
our plans and dreams were stolen
no longer would he stay

I must stop holding on here
it's time to say good-bye
no matter hearts are breaking
I know that I must try

He's taken a path crooked
a winding, shadowed one
yet still I think of him as

You have a lovely flow in this piece Sandra. A quiet sorrow reaches through the lines of this .... two lives, two directions, and always the memories. Very nicely written.
