ok...this is a first attempt after a long time of writer's block, so be gentle...(but if you must, please give some criticism )

Evasive Procedures (penned while listening to the soundtrack of the Talented Mr. Ripley...it has some bearing on it)

When you leave you take slumber
And refuse to let it from beneath
The veneer which encompasses your affection
Yet leave behind the cold elusive fingers
Who carry criticism and sad eyes to a new level
And let them seep into the earth
Until every creature merely hopes for dreams
Lies awake sending thoughts to you to plead for
mercy
When you return you seek still more treasures
And will gouge any guilt-ridden pressure point
To induce enough illusion that you can take all
But still leave some for the next visit

I'd rather fail trying to do something spectacular than fail being conservative Ben Affleck

This is actually quite good
It tends to approach a subject, from an angle that we don't see very often
