Secrets of the heart

Threaded in the golden warps of time
Are those events embedded in the mind
And there they shall remain, untouched, unseen
Yarns below the weft of velveteen

You, who lived the moment now disguised
Still hidden in your heart from curious eye
Are solely knowing of the fine detail
For just the weaver can unweave the tale

Those moments through your eyes have golden hues
That glow inside the deepest part of you
It is a glorious splendor you embrace
That sometimes shines a radiance on your face

What happiness is sacred in your keep
From chambers of your heart will never seep
The greatest moment of your greatest day
No soul on earth can ever take away

Buried in your past are treasures dear
Unseen, untouched, unheard by any ear

I think everyone has those precious secrets. Wonderful memories that no one can take away from them....a past where the soul keeps a library of times for calming the heart.....this is an absolutely wonderful poem Elizabeth!!

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.

Yup. *S* And those treasures sustain us, give us strength... and sneak smiles onto our face when they're most needed. *S* I like this one very much, Elizabeth!
