Fishing for Faith

Underline in red
the mistakes I've made,
sliding under ropes
that were meant to keep me out,
pacing my steps to imagined
devils pace,
listening to the truth
of all this silence.

Play me a song
that covers and stills
the noisy breath
of my searching heart
and opens the sky
to the filiment
of my questioning pole,
to fish for truth
in heaven's galaxy.

Martie,
Although I love rhyme, your writing always moves me. *L* Sy

Wow! That second part just says so much...excellent Martie just excellent! Please sing me that song when you hear it. The one that...... "covers and stills the noisy breath of your searching heart".....the same one that.......opens the sky to the filiment of your questioning pole to fish for truth in heaven's galaxy." Now that's POETRY!!

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.

I ran out of red ink a long time ago...
and Im still searching ...
I know the words to the song...
just trying to find my voice...
beautiful, sincere thought provoking write Martie
were all looking for the same thing...just in different places
me

It's amazing
how you make your face just like a wall
how you take your heart and turn it off
how I turn my head and lose it all
