When Sleep Pulls
Virginia Salter

Sleep drags me by the eyelashes, upon a old braid rug
the tongues of my shoes get fifty lashes for keeping toes from snug

My lids keep slamming shut, as a player shoots right past,
must be some sort of mind control, cuz mine has surely passed.
