It really isn’t anything
But it is everything all the same
It is that which is simple in life
Just a wink, smile, or a wave

To most, it is nothing
To some, it is elation
We all have our dreams
Of a wink, smile, or a wave

It matters not where it occurs
It only matters who
A glowing essence forms
From just a wink, smile, or a wave

The eyes meet
The heart flutters
For that fleeting moment, it is
More than a wink, smile, or a wave

In that moment, it is life
More powerful than any drug
Sweeter than a kiss
Simply a wink, smile, or a wave

And all too soon it is over
The instant passes
But the memory remains
Of a wink, smile, or a wave

It makes a day
It leaves a warm feeling inside
The sun shines a little bit brighter
Just a wink, smile, or a wave

Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery, and today is a gift. That's why they call it the present.

What can I say? I really like this idea, it expresses what a lot of people are thinking and feeling just walking down the street. It is a very nice piece. It's just not really my thing, so I can't offer much advice on what to change about it. Sorry Jason, and thanks once again for sharing.

We all want to be appreciated. I hear that one must learn to appreciate oneself before having the ability to accept the appreciation of others.

It matters not where it occurs
It only matters who

Words that apply to love as well. *S* I enjoyed your poem... it left the warm feeling of a wink, smile, or a wave received through the monitor... *S*

Myself, I prefer the wink... there is just something downright sexual about it. Wonderful write.
