Don't Be Afraid To Die

Cast not your thoughts across the shadows
of trees and leaves and branches,
of winters past, spring to come,
summers of death and dying souls
living between whence they've come
and where they want to be.

Give up the dead.
Resurrect the living.
Hell's firery flare bisects
the gilded path to wings,
spreading smoky, blackend ashes
at the base of heavens door.

Look not upon the face of God
without the fear of Satans sneering glare;
touch not the chosen path of righteous life
lest you know the taste of death
that comes with a trip, a fall,
the smell of Lucifers purtid breath.

Give up the soul.
Lay the body down to earth.
Speak the words required of you,
bask in wonderous angel light,
cast your thoughts beyond the sky,
ride the winds of angel wings…
go home, go home,
don't be afraid to die.

James, this is very thoughtful, and also profound. Good advice.

James, solid thoughts....we ought not be afraid of death, or of when a loved one leaves us...but as many of us know, we cling to the living form of our loved ones, even when we know in God's arms they will be whole...

a good write, giving a lot of thought. For some reason I feel you have just experienced this and if so....may God bless you and yours....

I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

Hmm, I tried to reply the first time, but it didn't work. I agree with Sunshine here.

We shouldn't be afraid to die. For it is in the GREATNESS of Peace we will stand before.
