Good Morning Red…

across the frozen white
the chirp of you, skimming, comes
faster than if over
the first green of spring frond

tell-tale marks of late night foragers
seen in the crystalline
and only guessed at
in the spring of green

still the chill nip in the air
though by your song you are there
baring your red, a banner of bright
beckoning call of spring's warm light

and in the trill of thrilling first call
you shall banish winter soon for all

write with grace, all others lose face;
"Jo was very tall, thin, ... and reminded one of a colt..." LMA
