Rainy day today…….
Radio down low…….then that song comes on
You know it, the one that triggers your heart
Puts it racing in reverse
Back to times with old friends
Younger days………….crazy days
Not a care in the world……except for what we'd be doing
And who'd be there
Innocence at the verge of enlightenment
So you turn it up………..loud
And for the length of the song
………….You're gone……….
And as reality seeps back in
The smile stays on your lips
And the tear that slips quietly down your cheek
Gets carefully brushed away.

Hey Sea a great big CONGRATS! I have read your kind comments and wonderful poetry as much as I've been able and it's been a pleasure.....This one reminds me of the Trisha Yearwood song..."The Song Remembers When' The words you have penned here are so true and I wish you the best with so many many more!! ethome

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!

on your 5000th post and for making so many of them to me. You celebrate this wonderful piece with us in a style that is unmistakeably yours and of course it is a beautiful piece to celebrate with anyway. I look forward to watching you achieve your next milestone with the same flair that brought you to this one.
