velvet touches of green
sprinkled here and there
across muddy fields
hinting at spring
whispering of yellow rays of sun
and daffodils pushing their heads
up from a winter nap
ready to scurry spring in
on petaled wings
as winter is carried away
in the arms of a Chinook wind
