state of confusion

A Day

Shovel a snowdrift of papers,
stack the outgoing,
file the incoming,
worship the cursor,
answer calls -
cords unraveling,
suffer the B.S.
of endless powwows,
then
in a mass of metal
inch toward home
to
slice and sauté
imitate a gourmet,
clean the scraps;
separate light from dark
in churning machinery;
settle overdue demands,
sort out levies,
check the homework,
sing a lullaby,
buzzer now set,
lie awake with worry,
give a kiss
goodnight.

too heavy to say "been there, done that"....

as I have this darn internal clock...
hire out the cleaning...
but do the laundry...
stuff the shirt
then fill the bill
but daily wait
for my daily fill...

Well done Corinne....well done indeed!

The delights of a DAY when everything is just as it should be, mundane perhaps...but it all ends with a kiss. What more should any of us ask? Thank you.

some "days" seem a mite more bleak
some "days" seem a mite more hopeful
Strange how it is - that we persist through the routine
knowing we will find reason
on "days" where we'd least expect
Damm - you write well!

Thank you all for commenting! Some days it seems like there is no "us."

A special note to Bill: You have given me hope - inspired me to go beyond where I thought I could. Thank you.
