...I wrote this last year. Hope that's okay!

SPAGHETTI
Virginia Salter

Spaghetti is for Freddie and for people like me
I eat for breakfast, I eat it for tea
I eat in the morning, at noon and at night
I eat it with voraciousness and pure delight.
If you liked spaghetti as much as I
You’d even choose spaghetti over lemon cream pie.

Now I don’t mean on top, for that would be gross
‘Cuz the taste of that spaghetti would surely be toast
What I mean is instead of sugar and cream
To eat more spaghetti is purely my dream.

I gotta stop a minute to get me a bite
‘Cuz I haven’t had spaghetti since way last night!
Now I have to admit that this newest batch
Was made with angel hair, so that’s the catch.

It’s not my first choice for the pasta ragu
But it’s best for this mouth of mine I tell you true.
For only one side is eatin’ today
‘Til I get to the dentist, I hope on Monday.

You see there’s a filling or a tooth that's broken a bit
If I bite over there it gives me a fit.
For it jabs into my gum, pierces with pain
Puts a howl in my head and screams at my brain!

WEll......I don't have a poem about spaghetti...Though I think they are funny the ones I have read. However,I have a poem about thongs. LOL Will that work? Thongs, meaning footwear. LOL Great job!

Have you ever known the color grey when the nighttime finds you weak
I have, I've walked that road each time; that's where my angel sleeps

Thanks, Saunni, for the read and the entertainment. LOL It's a good thing you've one about the footwear. The other kind of thong poem would likely have to go in the ADULT forum.

Virgina I love it the second day after it's been in the fridge and then reheated...it seems to have so much more flavour....that's the height of my challange...except for the spaghetti westerns that Clint Eastwood starred in when he was very young..they got him started and wern't all that bad...'A Fistfull Of Dollars' and 'A Few Dollars More'.........this has been fun! take care!

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.

Well, with your poem on spaghetti and Kethry's on navel lint, I think I've seen it all here!
Nice one.

Wondering how your thoughts went from spaghetti to tooth ache?
A very funny poem none the less.

Thanks all, and mystic requiem, the reason my thoughts travelled where they did was because I was eating spaghetti at the time and I also had the tooth problem. With only half of my mouth useful, the finer style of spaghetti, angel hair, was working perfectly. It was extra tender, smaller, and easier to eat. That way I could have my spaghetti and a toothache, too.
