My Nights

Beneath the shade of calico dreams
where words are written on indigo skies
in radiant display, my hearts desires
sail across the path of sighs.

Beyond the silence, amidst the passions
eclipsing love in breathless touch...
I know the feel, desires, wants
the silent words, I need so much.

How intimate the candles glow,
how sensual the gleam of light
a slave to darkness, it's glistening moon
I hold you pillowed come the night.

Showered by the twilight visions
of the sweet and silent thought
drifting, passing of time, the night
shelters all the memories caught.

Tranquil thoughts of sweet embrace
a string of thoughts, I wear each night
moments fingered to be retraced
captured am I, in the shadow's light.

As each memory brings me closer to sleep
pouring you softly in mind of feel
in my heart your image, I keep
an exchange in touch, a loving, real.

Not only is your mind working, it's peeking in on mine! LOL. I love this... especially the lines above... (softly sighing) *S*

Your nights keep the old prefrontal cortex humming...you're a marvelous poet!

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.
