Thanks

For the many times you’ve stopped and shared
Reflections of the past;
And the many times you’ve helped me up
When I’ve felt so downcast.

For the many times you’ve laughed for me
And somehow brought me cheer;
(So why’s it such a wonder that
Each day I want you near?)

For the too few words on paper, spent
In thanks to my good friend;
Though our meters aren’t quite perfect
And our rhymes at times don’t blend...

Of the many dreams we’d like to live
Some never do come true;
But for the words I’d like to give,
This poem is just for you.
