There's a new song I keep hearing
Its lyrics consist of one word
It is by far the most precious
This heart of mine has ever heard.

Hope's pure voice soars on the lead part
She had almost died years ago
But she came out of seclusion
To offer her sweet soprano.

Faith's shy alto blends smoothly
And her confidence really shows
Once crippled, the cost to restore her
Is something no one really knows.

An entire ensemble's on tenor -
Chuckles, Grins, Laughter, and Smiles
The gang is having a grand time
They'd dropped out of sight for a while.

Adding bass, Trust's voice is steady
Though slightly hoarse from lack of use
He had been silent for decades
After suffering much abuse.

Their harmony lifts my spirits
And I know I won't be the same
I'm enthralled by this song they made
In simply repeating your name.

Okay, who are you and what have you done with suthern???? I know I saw her name on this piece but when I read it, it turned out to be a "HAPPY" poem, so, what's up with that? Well, whoever you are, I might as well reply to the poem since I am here. First off, the rhyme scheme is wonderful and the words are magical, the cadence is dead on and I do so love the positive tone in the song you are singing. Beautiful write and I expect it to hit the top ten this week. Now, if you don't mind, could you point me in the direction of where you hid our cherished poet so that I might at least feed her a bit! Thank you ( oops, we 'preciate ya!!)

Amazing how the sound of his voice, or even speaking his name, can bring up all those feelings, and happy, beautiful songs. I love this.

I have to apologize first...last week I said your lonely poem was the best you ever wrote...then you gave birth to the twins...and I had to eat my words...now this one....sheeesh girl I know I said I gained 3 pounds with Valentines sweets, but can't you throw some salt and pepper my way, these words of mine are rather tasteless........
no really ruth, this is one of your best...and its smiling...as are you, I can't think of a more perfect poem to read this morning to make me smile too
