Uptight
Virginia Salter

permanent ink pen
paper of onion skin
wadded up washcloth
lying in the sink

dirty socks under nose
kinks in the garden hose
“Have a nice day, Joe!”
whether you’re from Kokomo

white shoes
on a muddy rainy day
white socks or slacks
oh, what a price to pay

automated help lines
that run 24/7
chattin’ with a machine
is a long, long way from heaven

milk cartons with a thimble full of milk
dry clean only stuff made of ‘spensive silk
lots of things in this ol’ world
set one on edge, lead one to hurl

what makes you uptight
what sticks in your craw
shall we have a contest
would it be a draw

Well I know if we had a poetry contest, you would win hands down against me. This was a delight to read and such an unique way of expressing yourself. I enjoyed it deeply.

Well, Mark, I DON'T THINK SO! but, LOL, I meant a contest of Pet Peeves, heh-heh.

Thanks for the wonderful thoughts, though.
