I looked out the window and happened to see,
A dog cock his leg by my willow tree,
At wetting the tree he was quite adept,
And that is why the willow wept.

The bee is such a busy soul
He has no time for birth control,
That is why in times like these,
There are so many "Son's of Bees"

You have it all wrong.
The tree only was weeping
cause it saw you peeking
and knew it not to be long
before Toerag was out leaking.

Well, Toerag, I can't begin to top the other comments so I won't try. I thoroughly enjoyed the read though, a bit of Ogden Nash in your groan. He's one of my favorite 'silly/serious' poets!

Weeping Willow

The willow weeps for you, my friend
It’s graceful limbs in sorrow bend
And from the dainty teardrop leaves
A weeping whisper in the breeze

The willow sways it’s arms around
That gently brush the summer ground
And as you sit and ponder there
It’s requiem drifts through the air

For weeping is the willow’s part
To comfort your unsettled heart
Whenever love has set you free
Come sit beside the willow tree

It whispers sighs the seasons through
Today it’s weeping just for you

You inspire me, dear friend

Welcome back, stranger! You brought smiles and inspired a beauty from Elizabeth... (though now that I know why the tree is weeping, sitting under it isn't quite so inviting! LOL) Thanks for explaining the whys and the wherefores so well, Toe... Now couldja stick around? *G*
