When?

Doves of enchantment
Sing from the rafters
Cooing a love song
Each day they repeat

When was the dawning
Ever so glorious?
When was the dove’s song
Ever so sweet?

Spring spatters colors
Of pale pink and yellow
Wildflowers blooming
In meadows of green

When were the fields so
Fragrant and lovely?
When did I notice
What never was seen?

Love can change feelings
Love can change beauty
Love makes a life so
Full and complete

When did I first hear
Mourning doves calling?
When was a soft kiss
Ever so sweet?

Love does open the eyes to such beauty. It's like a whole new world. You've expressed this beautifully.

You make me yearn for spring. To hear the birds singing their love songs, then making their nests.

It is when you pick up the pen, so to speak, and write about the beauties of life and love. That's when I enjoy the questions of your when and the hidden explanations within the lines........love it!

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.

Incredibly lovely, Elizabeth! Love does sharpen our senses (except for common sense *EG*) and waken us to things unseen before. *S*
