A Certain Intimacy

My life has prepared me for this?
For a woman that doesn't want me!
There has to be a lesson in this!
My past has come back to haunt me?
Hope I don't make this harder on you than it has to be.
Let me quickly say my final goodbye and bow out gracefully.
I know from experience that the sun will still faithfully shine.
The stars will twinkle on moonlit nights whether or not you are mine.
The universe will still carry on the same as ever
even thou we two are apart and no longer together.
I know the rivers will still flow.
The mountain tips will be topped with ice and snow.
We were just two small insignificant objects that kissed
and shared some moments in time.
Surely I'll wake up in the morning and hear the birds softly singing
and everything will be fine.
Til than I'll shed some tears for love.
A love that will never be.
Looks like she has no need for my heart.
A heart given to seeking intimacy
and now that we are apart
a heart doomed to bleed.

It's difficult to learn that lesson, that time does go on, in spite of all. This touched me deeply. I definitely know this feeling.
Very nice job on the write!

James,

You have penned your hearbreak so well,
the pace and rhythm are perfect.

As to you heart, sounds as though
she wasn't good enough for you,
after time to heal, you will
undoubtably find love anew.

It flows wonderfully
and brings back the memories of times
long forgotten..
