It's Just Not the Same... As I think back to the years of my younger days When each morning I woke to the sun It's just not the same, anymore in my mind And sadly, I'm two minus one. Many years, together has made me the she That I am today, mirrored view. Part of me hidden, the single of old Shall be brought out some day in my new. I've tried to hold onto the me that is me But have noticed I'm changing desire. The wants that were once treasured deep within heart Have returned now in hopes to acquire. It's just not the same as each night, rests the dark and when morning approaches the light I'm shadowed in thoughts of how strange it's become, As my day is no different than night. It's just not the same when forever is gone, but each day, I'll step forward once more.
