Can I be

Can I make you smile today?
If only in the smallest way.
Can I be your clown?
To take away that frown.

Can I be your butterfly?
Bring a twinkle to your eye
Can I be your fool?
And say you are a precious jewel.

Can I be your fondest wish?
Perhaps a chocolate candy dish.
Can I be a summer’s day?
Chase away the dreary gray.

Can I be a piece of fruit?
To touch upon those lips so moot
Can I be any of these?
A dream upon a breeze.

Perhaps a little snow white dove
To whisper you of whom I love.

I wish you could! Ha! I love this poem. And wish I could still ask such a wonderfully simple (read profound) question.

Now I sit here with a smile
because you are so versatile
a chocolate candy dish
that is what I'd really wish

You sure do know how to start a ladies day!

Seymour - what a wonderful writing, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't critique, as I find nothing at present to critique, it's just great.
