Between a laugh and a tear...

0 posted 2001-02-22 07:45 AM

I would spend my life on bended knee
If I could only help you to see
How deep this love I have for thee

'Tis stronger than the moon and stars
And greater than all our scars
This love so sweet, it grows from afar

Once I thought we could never be
But I was blinded, unable to see
Now all you ask that I set you free

A fear so great, to loose a friend
I hope one day this heart to mend
For I'll always love you, till the very end

This is heartfelt and very sincere verse, here.....

This is so sad...why are we so blind that we cant see...or I guess believe is a better way of saying it. Miles dont mean anything to a heart that loves...

You express the sadness of this really well.
Nice writing!

Eagle One, it doesn't matter, near or far, the feelings can be the same. I wish I could help, but it is not to be. Glad you are back

Eagle One, the simplicity of your poem lends well to the sincerity expressed. The inversions and sentimental language add to the feeling that allows your reader to believe the plea behind the composition. Thanks for it.

My dear friend you know I couldn't leave for
the weekend without replying to your work...
This is so beautiful and heartfelt...You
weave from your soul and it always shines in
your work...The fact that so many "feel"
this poems speaks loudly for the poet...
Awesome weaving...hugs to you my angel friend!!

i especially like this verse..often it feels as if the scars are so big that love cannot touch them...but i believe...love is much bigger!!

sad, but beautifully written poem, EAGLE..

Apologies for the earlier group reply, things are a little hectic just now………

Kathleen ~ Yes indeed, this one is straight from the heart. Thank you!

Janet ~ I thank you for the lovely comments my friend. I've missed my smiling face too, but I'm working on that also.

Sunshine ~ Melancholy sums up the feeling well. A pleasure to know you've read my humble offerings, thankyou!

Paula ~ I think we tend to sometimes stop ourselves from believing in the possibilities. The reasons for this are many and varied, mostly we just live in such a complex and interwoven world, and there are rarely any easy or simple answers.

Dreamkeeper ~ Thankyou for your comments. Love your signature too!

M E ~ Indeed the distance does little to dull the feelings. I don't know that it's not meant to be though. I'm not such a believer in fate and destiny, I like to think we have some say in our own destiny.

Poet deVine ~ It is an honour to have you read my work, thankyou!

NC ~ A sad time it was, I thank you for stopping bye to add your comments.

SEA ~ I think your comments are too kind, but I do thank you!

Claire ~ I value your opinion greatly, thankyou!

Butterflies ~ What can I say my friend! You know me all too well, when I write there are no secrets. I think you are far too kind with your comments, but I thank you as always.

Voiceless ~ It is I who thanks you for reading.

Dee ~ It is nice to have you here to read my work again. I'm glad that you enjoyed, take care!

L W ~ Yes I would! Thankyou for stopping by my friend, take care!

G ~ I think that verse is probably the crux of the whole poem. I too believe that love can overcome the insurmountable, if only we can dare to believe. Thankyou for adding your thoughts my friend!

Marsha ~ Your comments do make me blush! Thankyou!

suthern ~ You are so right, sometimes it just doesn't matter how right it is or how much you want it to be, it just can't happen. And yes, that is indeed such a sad feeling. Thankyou for your comment, take care!
