Taste this Tuesday,
Licking lips slowly,
Fighting for a breath of relaxation and air,
Midst the wrathful waters of a migraine sea.
Tuned in perfect perfection while turning thoughts,
And refusing the onslaught of sleep,
Feeling its slithering sneaky way to my eyes.
A neck too tense to fight the battle to be upright.
Arms too weary to coax even the most gentle words.
Legs boasting and screaming of ache,
Crying out for the solace of steaming water.
See the struggle between truth and pain,
Struggling nightly for the prize of what?
For the prize of a so called martyr.
For the treasure of a fallen princess.
For the keepsake of a chipped heart.
Forget me please, this princess begs,
But then in the same breath asks,
That you not leave her side.
Gently drawing things and extracting mindless words,
To create more depth than she knows how to swim in, And she never was a strong swimmer,
She could never even float.
Only flail her arms and hope that a strong hand,
Would keep her from slipping completely over.
Come visit the sea of migraine where truths flow like small rivers into its mouth.
Come sail on the current of tears,
And see why sometimes the day is for the pain and frustration of too much thought,
And is not often good for one's health.

I would prescribe a long hot bath followed by hours of sleep. . .

and if that doesn't work. . . try counting sheep. . .

excellent words. . .

well then. . . barring sleep. . . I suppose poetry will have to do then. . .

*wondering what it would be like to "prescribe" poetry*
