You Don't Know Me

Once upon a time she was my most beautiful shining star.
I bathed in her glow as I admired her from afar.
She caught me by surprise when she lingered for awhile.
She took my hand in hers and she shared the sweetest smile.

How quickly I fell for the lovely maiden named Michelle my belle.
Her heavenly smile was full of angel glow.
Her silky lips gave the most enticing kiss I know.

Now her glow is fading fast.
Everybody knows shooting stars come and go.
One must look really fast to see them flying past.

And God knows I don't want to let her go.
But I will and I wish her well.
In my thoughts she will remain Michelle my belle.

She shared the sweetest smile.
And once upon a time she was my most beautiful shining star.
If only for awhile.

A sad tale to have to let something so cherished go for whatever reasons. A beautiful poem, I have to say. Let our thougths be with those stars also. Let us hope that they find a place in the sky to settle one day.

Thank you Tennessee...yes it can be very sad if we look upon it as only a loss.
Sven I am so thankful for those days of heavenly bliss.
Temptress how nice of you to think of her..it is too easy just to feel sad for ourselves and not think of the other...yes I hope Michelle finds a special place to rest her soul and to share her heart...she has the sweetest smile...James
