Waking on the verge of destruction

I fell asleep on a cloudless day
on the shores of a beach sublime,
to let my dismal thoughts swim away,
and ease this troubled mind.

I dreamed of a man garnished in hope
who picked me up like a child,
and left the sand in his wake
to tread on a concrete's mile.

He carried me with arms so strong,
to protect me from all my woes
and walked, with legs of satin strength,
over ditches left by my soul.

He held his ground with every stride
and squeezed me when I was afraid.
A burden I must have bared to him
but his love, my despair could not fade.

A familiar sun of yonder days
arose at the end of the road
and gently kissed our faces red,
as we beheld a beauty untold.

He set me down with a graceful touch
peering deeply into my eyes
and wrapped me within tender arms
to reassure his love was mine.

As I woke from the shores of sweet sublime, I heard the empty echoes scream
from an angry ocean spewing my dismay, and telling me it was all but a dream.

This has the flow of a ballad, it's moving and with wonderful cadence...I hung on every line.

"When red-haired girls scamper like roses over the rain-green grass,
and the sun drips honey."
