Regret I could?ve I should?ve I would?ve Oh these words of promises forgotten Lost like memories unremembered by you I hear them there in my mind sometimes Oftentimes when my eyes seek the you Who was here but isn?t anymore You who I knew I could?ve I should?ve I would?ve Ahhh those sounds of our lost dreams Wandering around the echoes of my heart I can feel them calling to me sometimes Like make believe in which I took part A play in which I?ve lost the script My love which fell apart I could?ve I should?ve I would?ve So lost the chance of hopeless chance Hiding within me the tracks of my tears I can taste them inside me sometimes They gather around me with their fears Filling my eyes with their lonely sighs The only sound I now hear Dear Heart Reach out and touch someone Holland Dozier and Holland |
