Be still, my treacherous heart…
before you tear my world apart…
My secrets you are sure to give away…
You know that I am weak,
and when you cause my lips to speak,
I can’t control the words you make me say…

This smile upon my face…
feels so strangely out of place…
You put it there for all the world to see…
My eyes give off a glow…
And I’m sure, my heart, you know…
It comes from love that grows inside of me…

My heart, why did you fall,
when I had built a fortress tall,
with locks to keep you in, and keep love out?
My thoughts were all arranged…
but now it seems so very strange…
I thought I knew what life was all about…

So now, my treacherous heart…
I’m not quite sure where I should start…
These feelings have me shaken and confused…
You seem to know what’s best…
And you’ve discarded all the rest…
Play well, my heart…we can’t afford to lose!

Live...Love...Be grateful for both!!

Sunny, you said it all, girl. Treacherous heart, indeed. Love this poem, isn't it funny how we seem to have no control over what our hearts decide...

Hearts have a mind of their own. Not too sharp, I may add.

Thank you Sandra!!
Yes....just when I supposedly have my heart in perfect control....it takes off on it's own!!

Thank you JamesMichael!!
I do the same...after all, one never knows what will happen from one moment to the next, so there is a bit of excitement in the mystery!!

Thank you walker!!
Boy...that is certainly the truth!! Sometimes I look back and just have to laugh at myself and my stubborn heart!!

Live...Love...Be grateful for both!!

Sunnyone,

"My heart, why did you fall,
when I had built a fortress tall,
with locks to keep you in, and keep love out?
My thoughts were all arranged…
but now it seems so very strange…
I thought I knew what life was all about…"

I cannot tell you how many times in the past week I have asked myself that very thing! Very good.. I'm glad I stopped in.
