Lovers Moon (revised)

Where is that moon...I used to know?
With butter yellow...afterglow?
That listened...to my every sigh?
Where has it gone...where does it lie?

That magic sphere...paramours dear
It shines I swear...but know not where.
How have the years...made me so blind?
Where is that moon...where is that mind?

That rare mystic...that alchemy?
That lovers seek...of revelry
The keeper of...my secret store
That golden Magi...lovers core

That magic lantern...light of trance
The light of love...that made us dance
The glory of...the flowers lie
How did it droop...how did it die?

I stand and stare...and search the moon
The sky is bare...It is high noon.

=====================

when you "revise" ... butterflies sigh
and SY-babes ...

you cant find the moon ... in days afternoon
look in northwest sky ... find it there in the winkie of an eye

love this one Sy ... even with the blue moon ending
tell Randy the moon is made of peanut butter and jelly...
he'll fly you there
*winkiewinkie*

Thanks for the poem and reminding me I'm not far off that stage myself.

Yes, I admit your general rule. That every poet is a fool:
But I myself may serve to show it. That every fool is not a poet.

WOW!! Excellent writing, Sy!! Very nice!! It was a real thrill to get to speak to you on the phone today!! You have a warm, lilting voice, just as I thought you would!! I hope my Philadelphia accent wasn't too distracting...hehehe...."Hey, yo, Adriane" (Rocky)

Denice,
It was wonderful talking to all of you and look forward to meeting you one day. *L*

Balladeer,

Do not despair that you're searching the sky at noon, dear Seymour... sometimes that ole moon does peek out during the day, just to see if we're paying attention. *G* And I'm sure glad I was paying attention and didn't miss this one... it's wonderful!

"How have the years...made me so blind?
Where is that moon...where is that mind?"

ROFL in perfect understanding. *G* This is great!

Gosh Seymour didn't anyone tell ya...ya can't see the moon at high noon...Just joking! I love all the references here to the special things the moon means to you.....they are so emotionally wonderful...great work my friend!!

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.
