I’ve heard of a place that I’ve always wanted to go
It lies in my dreams and holds a secret I ache to know
It calls me...beckons for me to uncover it’s mystery
I’m entranced by the hidden covenant and history

Kings and Queens have spoke of it’s power
Witches and warlocks have cursed it in the midnight hour
Philosophers and scholars have dissected it’s coming and going
Trying to explain it’s enticement ..but never really knowing

It looms in a land that time can’t touch
It knows not of creed, age, race and such
There’s not a map to mark it’s location
There’s not a soul immune to it’s incantation

Heaven and earth cease to have boundaries there
It holds not emotion of uncertainty or fear
It’s filled with magnificence elusive to words or song
But once you enter it’s gates...you know you belong

No one can enter it’s portal alone...an entrance made for two
Like the Ark of Noah...a lone soul is not worthy to step through
Long ago I gave up the hope of finding it’s unseen door
Giving the wind the dream of walking on it’s white shore

You too knew of this place that I speak
Sharing it’s legend...your search had left you weary and weak
Our souls touched as we shared the visions that kept us warm
Forgetting the memories that left our hearts tattered and torn

Yesterday and tomorrow floated away
The worries of the past moved out of our way
Our searching was over...we found what we’d dreamt of
The entrance to the mysterious land..the land of Love~

Holly girl, now this is just beautiful and so inspiring! You penned this so wonderfully and added flair to this theme. I luv it, I do! If only I could find the entrance to that which you speak of. Into the library this goes!~

now this is a groovy

Butterfly on a Wheel
By The Mission UK,
from Carved in Sand

Silver and gold, and it's growing cold
Autumn leaves lay as thick as thieves
Shivers down your spine, chill you to the bone,
cause the mandling wind is the melody that turns your heart to stone
The heat of your breath carvin shadows in the mist
Every angel has the wish, she's never been kissed
A broken dream, haunting in your sleep
Hiding in your smile, a secret you must keep love cuts you deep.
Love breaks the wings of a butterfly on a wheel
Love breaks the wings of a butterfly on a wheel
There's no scarlet in you, lay a fair down for me
Sure has got me twined, you can't wrap you arms around a memory
Take warmth from me, cold autumn winds cut sharp as a knife
but in the dark for me you're the candle flame that flikkers to light
Love breaks the wings of a butterfly on a wheel
Love will break the wings of a butterfly on a wheel
Love breaks the wings of a butterfly on a wheel
Love will break the wings of a butterfly on a wheel
Wise men say all is fair in love and war
And there's no right or wrong in the design of love
And I could only watch as the wind crushed your wings
Broken and torn, crushed like a flower under the snow
and like the flower in the spring, love will rise again to heal your wings
Love heals the wings of a butterfly on a wheel
Love will heal the wings of a butterfly on a wheel
Love heals the wings of a butterfly on a wheel
Love will heal the wings of a butterfly on a wheel

Oh you're right on with this one Butterflies...I love how you lead up to the end... I think we all know that love is tricky tricky stuff! But it's the seat of motivation that runs on endlessly through the human connection to time......I really love this poem it's so true!

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.

I do believe that I not only remember this place but I do know the route there as well and can't wait for my return trip.
Beautiful write my friend and as always, you touch upon the emotions of this cowboy that so often never see the light of day and I thank you for that. I did hear that they can do miracles in cloud construction there also.
Now for "CRITIQUE"

Let's see, I love the rhyme, I love the cadence, imagery kisses the soul, emotions hug the heart..........YEPPERS.....I do believe ya got it there Ms. Pastel Wings!!!!

Care to send it in a Glad bag or do you prefer aluminum foil? Well, I had to try ya know!!! <---- See, I still look the same in the mornings....just like you are used to. Well, maybe you never get used to some things but the knowledge is there. Great poem there cutie. Love seeing you fly.

What a beautiful land you describe!! Since "No one can enter it’s portal alone...an entrance made for two Like the Ark of Noah...a lone soul is not worthy to step through" is too true, I've never really visited... but I sure enjoyed the peek inside you shared. *S* Well done!
