In the moonlight
shadows dancing
Willows weep amid morning mist
lovers sighing
sounds entrancing
sharing a farewell kiss

In the daylight
shadows resting
While life goes on apace
always seeking
ways of testing
faithfulness in each face

In the noontime
shadows sleeping
Waiting for eventide when
nightly secrets
she’ll be keeping
lovers lie together again

In the moonlight
shadows dancing
Secret trysts again begin
whispers taking
lovers chancing
to find a love again
