Bonnie Brae
By: Noah Eaton
2/16/01

Blue spruce cloverleafs tatter before purple mountain majesties
Boxelders rise and shine at winters dusk on hillocky milky foothills
Here we would lay on bonnie brae, letting the snowflakes kiss our faces
We’d rest our heads side by side, sweet words blanketed us as Mother Nature yawned her williwaw in her sleep

Side by side would we lay, making snow angels on the snow-capped meadow
The warmth of your hand keeping me warm, as we wait for the sunlight to seep through the clouds
I held you in my arms as we stepped back inside as the day ended and the nights got colder
Dreaming of you by and by, as winters dusk passed us by

On bonnie brae, I embowel all my pain deep into my pocket and clear my head with you
Here I sing my serenade to you, rhythm follows with the seasons

From the ossuary of late-blooming buds, springs dawn reincarnates petrified roots
Tarradiddle perennials rise forth this season in chicanery, wizards of the earth awakening from hibernation
Sunlight beacons forth the bonnie brae, sitting with you on this jade vale
We as one enkindle within the fresh hollyhock breath of annual beginning

And this is where I loved you, I picked a daisy for you, my darling
Our love came in with the sunlight, I knew that when I first saw the lightness in your face
I would kiss you on the soft meadow grass
Rolling with you down the small hillsides under the azure skies

On bonnie brae, I learned not to feel shy, when I first met you
Here I sing my serenade to you, rhythm follows with the seasons

Sun overcomes day in the noon of the summer, sultry days playing with thunderstorms orchestra
Butterscotch rain keeping the soil healthy, leaves swaying in the mandate of enlightenment
I sat with you out in the soft drizzle on bonnie brae, kissing your moist lips kissed by the rain, feeling your long wetted hair
Smoothly dragging my hand down, feeling the softness, as I walked away with you as the rain began to fall harder

I would look out the window with you, my arm around your shoulders
Watching the hail fall, heavens pearls of holy matrimony dropped in rejoice of our truly found love
The heart of the setting sun pierced with a bolt of lightning, natures cupid speaking
A rainbow explodes back again, a mirror reflection of his message silencing to a sigh

On bonnie brae, I touched your heart, just as you touched mine
Here I sing my serenade to you, rhythm follows with the seasons

As the season goes by, falls midnight undertows backwards across the atmosphere
Aspen ridges and crabapple gulches kissed in moonlight of Picasso
Stars substitute the sunlight over bonnie brae, where far from a telescopic lens, I gazed up at the stars with you at my side
Your head tucked safe under my arm around your shoulder, swearing you found your place within the seven sisters

We’d both look at this star, lighting the sky like no other, and we’d see it twinkle in each others eyes
Every wink your eyes blink, just as you noticed the same with me, accepting this gift together with hands held
The star twinkled between our faces as our lips embraced in the starlight kiss, present of eternity delivered
We happily said together we’d be together forever the rest of our lives, through every season that follows, as I held you close

On bonnie brae, we found we were truly meant for each other
Here I sing my serenade to you, rhythm follows with the seasons

Your love flows in me with every season, my love
Never will I miss a single breath of fresh air, never will I miss a sunrise or sunset
In times cabriolet, love will ride us on through life come joy
And in your eyes, I will always see…bonnie brae…

This has the feel of both a ballad...and a song. Very nice.
