~Moonlight Shadows Dancing~

In the moonlight shadows dancing,
in night's cascading, ebony, quiet of still ...
love's lingering trace ... transcends time and space,
for in the moonlight shadows ... infinite silences until.

In the moonlight shadows dancing,
in the ribbons of midnight's translucent mist ...
fate and destiny ... kiss meant to be,
for in moonlight shadows ... forever's constant exists.

In the moonlight shadows dancing,
sapphire stars glow in liquid indigo of night sky ...
whispers of love are spoken ... no promises shall be broken,
for in moonlight shadows ... dreams dance on wings of butterflies.

In the moonlight shadows dancing,
cerulean oceans rise up to meet the horizon's caress ...
Baptizing me ... in emerald pools of your memory,
the mystical magic ... moonlight shadows posses.

In the moonlight shadows dancing,
violet twilight gives way to black satin hold of night ...
I willingly surrender to ... the enchanting hold of you,
as moonlight shadows ... surrender to dawns embracing light.

Janet Marie

"sapphire stars glow in liquid indigo of night sky"
Can I have this? I'll trade you one of mine for it!
The imagery here is simply ethereal!
I'm not sure that I understood all of the ellipses though. Were they for symmetrical purposes? I think commas and some clean line breaks would have made it even more powerful than it is.(if that be possible)
I love this! I'll be looking for more of your work.

Hey there my poet pet, this is beautiful....wow....it dreams right through reality, on the edge of consciousness looking into the chasm of the heart...beautiful my dear girl just beautiful!
"for in moonlight shadows....forever's constant exists"
"sapphire stars glow in liquid indigo of night sky.
whispers of love are spoken....no promises shall be broken."
for in moonlight shadows...dreams dance on wings of butterflies."

now that's poetry!

I remember the first poem I posted at Passions....it started like this.....

"That moonlit flight the night we met
there were stars all around in the air.
They shone like diamnods through the mist
and a moon harp played on your golden hair"

What a great inspiration that good old moon has been to us poets...it not only pulls at the water but it pulls at the tides of the mind...out of that inspiration comes the greatest feeling of peace and happiness and when you mix that with love then you've got a real poetic cocktail brewing.......

Love to ya sweet poet pet... I really love this one!

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.

Simply stunning in verbage and presentation Janet Marie ... a most beautiful rendition that soothes the mind with gentle, tender caresses ... what a lovely mood you've set with these words. I really loved the gentle flow in this JM ... wonderful writing!

Okay...so Sy gives you peanut butter and jelly and well deserved at that but I offer a HUGE plate of brussel sprouts swimming in cheese. This was beautiful my friend and not only did you mix the rhyme in the 2/4 with the in line rhyme in the 3 but you NAILED the cadence "PERFECTLY" ....... Now let's talk IMAGERY.........I CLAIM IT FOR ME AND IF ANYBODY WANTS TO ARGUE THEN THEY GOTTA KNOW...........I AIN'T GONNA BACK DOWN ON IT ONE BIT. LOL. Your imagery in this one is so superbly done and so lovingly presented that I know your heart was singing with more than one muse when you wrote it. Your line breaks with the famous (...'s) were done masterfully in controlling the tempo of the read and I am in awe my friend. Now I think I must try to keep up with you in mine but that is NOT going to be easy so if I fail then know it is not from lack of trying but merely lack of resources in my capabilities. (don't say it......I know what you are going to say already)

"Moonlight Shadows" - these 2 words have been used (me too) many times - in poems, lyrics and prose. I'll sum up my reply by claiming that this is the quintessential Moonlight Shadows poem.
