Before You Wake Up As you lay there dreaming Or in the midst of your anxiety Look upon the brightness of the new day When your eyes open Just sit there a moment Visualise yourself, look at your person Take a deeper breath than normal Slow down before you begin Do not rush around and you will feel That the little time spent with yourself Has cast aside the hundreds of mornings You never gave yourself the chance To be better prepared to face the challenge Of an uncompromising society Ready to make you squander your abilities Rather than make you realise That life is meant for living. Be prepared, before you wake up! Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love (Daniel J D) |
