A Treasure, Boxed In Life

When the nights have drawn dark upon my heart
I turn to you, my place of comfort.
Gentle handling, your words to me
in this heart that holds no room for doubt.
You cast me, mold me, shape my thoughts.
You shine your moon upon my face.
I let it's glow sweep over me,
feel the butterflies,
catch myself smiling at their touch.

That day you came my way, a complete stranger,
into my life unexpectedly, a treasure, boxed in life.
I opened it to find soft touches to ease my pain,
kisses to heal the hurts, printed words
smooth and sweet, to touch every part of me,
a rainbow of colors and a brush
to paint for me, my morning sun.

As I close my eyes, I drift among these treasures
surrendering each morning, melting my boundaries
yielding to a place I love, wondering...
what life would be like without you.

And retreating each night into darkness
dreaming, pleasantly
knowing in my heart, your gentle words
will rock me to sleep forevermore.

Hi Wynter,

Beautiful poetry coming from your heart here and sounds like strength and wisdom have found a resting place as well, sending you hugs,,

Wynter...
Never for a moment doubt the beauty of your words, or let another's inadequacies smother your gift. I shall always look forward to your wonderful poems, such as this one...they are the real treasures, so I hope you throw away that box!!

Live...Love...Be grateful for both!!

I was going to wait to thank everyone, but when I saw that box, Sunnyone, I couldn't wait any longer..I love that and I am going to use it with thanks to you when I add this poem to my webpages...someday ...when I have the energy...

thank you Sunshine, Kit, Cerenity for your hugs

Love_is_Pain and JamesM...for your thoughts

I appreciate them all...I don't know so much as I have a gift or not, just that the past three years have overloaded my senses and the only outlet I seemed to have found that could console me was poetry....and if it wasn't for that, I really don't think I would be around today at all....thanks again..I give you all a warm {{hug}}and wish you all well.
