Sunset paints with golden fingers…
Breaking waves sprinkled with diamonds,
wash the sand from under her feet, where they
are planted at ocean’s edge…
Gulls fly overhead, soaking in the last golden
rays of daylight…
And…all is at peace in her world…

She looks as far across the ocean as her human
eyes can see, and wonders if he stands on
some distant shore, looking back…
Her sunset is his sunrise…
Her night is his day…
Still…all is at peace in her world…

Her eyes look up to the heavens, and she feels
the sun-tinted golden clouds rushing
overhead in the sea breeze…
Did his eyes behold the same clouds in his part
of the world?
Now…all is at peace in hers…

A tear slips from her eye, and joins the salty pool
below, while she tries to calm the tide of
longing in her heart…
Does he love as she?
Does he need as she?
She believes he does, and…
All is at peace in her world…

Darkness is swallowing up it’s last gulp of
light, in anticipation of the rising globe it claims
as it’s own…
A shooting star appears in the distant sky,
and she knows from whence it came…
And…all is at peace in her world…

This land, this ocean, this sky, these feelings,
these thoughts...
All are a part of the world in which she has to live…
She looks up one more time, and whispers
his name to a blinking star…
Just as he whispers hers in the first glow
of dawn…

And…all is at peace in their world…

Sunny, I feel the love and longing here, and I can see you standing there looking out over the water. I hope he can too.
Beautiful.

Reading this reminded me of this picture that my girlfriend took while on vacation in Utah recently. Though I heve never been there it looks as peaceful as she describes it.

Kit...
Thank you so much, and I do really appreciate your wonderful reply!!

Sandra...
I've stood by the ocean many times in my life. I find it strengthens my soul, and fills me with peace. Thank you, my friend!!

Jeffrey...
Oh, what a beautiful picture that is!! I have been to Utah many years ago, but I didn't realize that there were such beautiful places there!! It is the epitome of peace, I think.....thank you, and your friend for the lovely picture!! (I love images!!)

ethome...
Yes, it does fit so perfectly, doesn't it? This is what I had in mind for the feeling of open peacefulness that only Nature can give us. Thank you, also!!
