Age and Sage

I have studied most of the sage
From age to age-to-age.
Listened and read from rage to rage
From page to page-to-page.

Knitted their Dane from skein to skein
From wane too sane to wane
Sorted their kind from find to blind
From mind to mind-to-mind.

Emulated each road they strode
From mode to load to mode
Adopted each and every code
From bode to ode to ode.

But never could I find a door
To stop the gnaw of gnaw
To sate my mind and stop the thaw
Of having more and more

It’s good there is an end to end
To end the rend of wend to wend.

you knew, too, you knew in blue
I would find a liking in this from you
too true, 'tis you, 'tis true...

Great write Seymour I enjoyed very much ethome

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.

your poets pen ... your wisdom tool
with each write ... you reach new heights of cool
with each verse ... you take us back to school
you teach us well ... poetic golden rule

baptised in the wealth ... of your knowledge pool
all who see are awed ... I above all ... your poetic fool
