The Feeling The feeling… Of you sitting next to me Our legs touching under the table When there were other seats you could have taken Be calm, be cool, be stable. Of saying in my head What you’re about to say out loud Or the song you’re going to play next As we begin the ride back home. Of you not meeting my eye In a room full of people And smiling because I know if you do In an instant you will kiss me. Of my heart beating As if it will finally explode Into the red, passionate mess you’ve made of it With my full and willing approval. Of knowing that you love me Not a doubt in my mind Your words, your hands, your soul tells me It’s so close to being right. Of lying there on top of you Because that is where you’ve led me The closeness being unsurpassed Moving in rhythm to your breathing. Of watching you while you sleep By only streetlight through the window Knowing in the morning I will have to leave you. Of lying alone then just to dream of you Sleep doesn’t easily come But in this way you are with me In all I know of love. |

I love the way you've led the reader through this, with rather a powerful ending. This isn't often written of but you've captured it wonderfully. Kind of like we talked about in Feelings, eh?! So glad I caught it. To capture and live a moment is truly living |

Very nice scene indeed...vivid and romantic pictures...good writing! The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges. |
