Observe a common object many ways
set forms and functions under-go a shift .
Stability does not mean things must stay
once you reject the concept of a rift
between what's fact and fancy and let drift
your thoughts along some very diff'rent lines
you too may change the water into wine .

Such is the stuff of nonsense and of dreams
that things may be as are yet given chance
they can become that which they did not seem
where faeries sugar plum learn how to dance .
Some draw or paint or sculpt a few may prance
this line that keeps the two worlds far apart
each medium well done becomes an art .

But rare indeed are those who make us see
what lies beyond the realm of mortal ken
their tools en-compass all we'll ever be
three points in time reside within their pens .
Blank pages calling out to them and then
delicate balance shifts into new light
as all is merged into the ones who write .

Hey Doc! You been samplin' out of your black bag again? Cause I think that whole line between reality and fantasy is startin' to blur for ya. But then again, I'm just a rooster who'se flown the coop. All the same... I'm hip to your colors, dig the paint scheme... I'll be checkin' out your other art as I strut along. Peace my man.

PS... I checked into the Stute and sampled you Word Stew... You see any of the Justin Clan... tell em' I'm a comin' and all my feathers are in a mess.

An astute assessment of the power of the written word. All of art has the power, to my way of thinking, to transform what we "think" we know to what we think we "know." (o:

The form is lyrical, the enjambment smooth. Another fine mess(age), Doc. (o:

Thanks for it.

I haven't read much of your work, and wasn't sure what to expect, but enjoyed your artfully expressed observations on what constitutes art. I do think this ought to go to the top again.
