As darkling hand of night recedes
there stands an army in the mist
and most attentively these reeds
await the words that once had kissed

The willows weep the alders sigh
above the moist and fertile ground
while chic-a-dees on cat-tail spires
sit motion-less without a sound

No creatures sound out to their mates
no voice of Nature's heard at all
this eerie silence permeates
until a voice is heard to call

Awakening long dormant glen
with serenades for which it's yearned
and life resumes it's pace again
for " meadow music " has returned

DrMoose~
Oh what lovely sounds await us on the break of dawn.
This is replete with the imagery of anticipation.

This is lovely... it doesn't just create music, it paints a picture I want to step through. *S* Great poem!

Marge,
You were quite instrumental in this piece .Thanks.
Doc

Nakd,
Glad to get you up and going , is that de-caff or regular ? I'm kinda a full flavor type myself , poetry lite ? I don't think so.
Thanks.
Doc

suthern ,
Thank you , I brought out my best brushes to paint this for one who was away but has returned .
Doc

Paula,
Yes , I too , seem always to be waiting , my life on hold , knowing that completion is just a word away ! But then again , I'm nuts !

serenity,
Can you spare some ? Keepers as in fish ,
are as large as one would wish , but fools as general rules , are often found in schools.I forgot who said that , maybe it was me . Thanks ,

This reply is just a word to thank you for the chance to read such a fine poem, I’ve read it several times and it gets better on each occasion.

Thanks again for the chance to read and reply

Yes, I admit your general rule. That every poet is a fool:
But I myself may serve to show it. That every fool is not a poet.
