if I'd only met you when
when skies were blue
and trees were green
and love was all
that it could mean
but, I didn't meet you then

if I'd only met you when
when nights were long
and days were fun
and love was found
beneath the sun
but, I didn't meet you then

if I'd only met you when
when lonely times
were all I knew
and all I'd need
was found in you
but, I didn't meet you then

if I'd only met you when
or if not when
my love, then soon
with stars above
the face of moon
but, I didn't meet you then

if I'd only met you when
if I'd met you
when and not now
I know someway
my love, somehow
we would have found our love then

Missed opportunities, lousy timing, and regrets that just keep us wishing for otherwise... (sigh) I like this one a lot, Sven.

You have so touched on something that's been on my mind lately.......that timing.....and what could have been if it were different......Very well done.

if only .... if only..... damn! i HATE it when this happens... enjoyed this very much, sven, but don't you think we could eliminate the if onlys and just follow our hearts sometimes? or... would that be irresponsible? help me out here... please?? you ARE the good doc, aren'tcha? *wink*.... thanks for the read... timing is everything... or is it? do we have ANY control over that?

I'm thinking about some of those "If only's" right now...they sure do get in the way of a good relationship....James

AD dear heart, oh my what's that saying you will always regret what you didn't do more than what you did! I know, seize the day, it should be my motto I think.

But I'll tell you one thing I'll never regret and that is washing up on the shores of Passions, where my life has been enriched by the presence or real beauty. Of which this is an exqusite example. Love this one absolutely excellant.
Take care love as always

Sven,
We can't go back, my friend, we can only try and explore the dreams ahead of us. You still have many journeys on the horizon. Someday the timing will be perfect...
Much love, Elise

Sven, my dear, I made it here with only one stop along the way (sorry I got distracted ) and now you have forced me out, so that I may go and cry! Always beautiful, friend.

Thank you to everyone that replied. . . *sigh*. . . I'm glad that I could touch all of you in some small way. . . it makes me happy. . .

I really hate "what if's" and "should have's". . . you should at least do one crazy thing in your life. . . just once. . . take that chance. . . sure, it might not work out. . . but you never know until you try. . .

Thank you all again. . . you're all wonderful friends and poets and I wish all the love and light in the world!!!
