You Are My Reason

I catch my breath in awesome wonder
When you turn your face toward me,
And when you smile your priceless smile
I can feel my heart skip a beat.

Your voice is like a heavenly melody
Drifting sweetly on a dream,
And with its beauty echoing in my ears,
My soul takes flight on gossamer wings.

Your kindness warms my frozen heart
Like a gentle southern breeze;
And the light of your laugh dispels the darkness
That had brought me to my knees.

You are my light, my joy, my love, my hope,
My every reason to be;
From the binding chains of a broken heart,
You have set my soul free.

Hi, all my dear, dear, poetic friends! I am so sorry that I have been away for so long! I haven't even had time to write, I have been tied down at work so much lately. But I just wanted you to know that I have missed each and every one of you, and you know I couldn't stay away from my second "home" on Valentine's Day!
Besides, there is someone special in the picture, now, and I think that this repost is very appropriate...........

(Now, look, I can't tell just yet! )

Terry-

Thank you for posting this. I needed
to read this today. You brought a smile
to my face...to see such hope and light,
in love. Beautiful words...I'm sure whom-
ever they are for are very lucky indeed!
Now don't be gone for so long this time k.
Take care

Terry my friend....it is good to see you in
love...this is so very beautiful, the lines
have etched their way into my heart and give
me a reason to pause and smile for you...to
see you happy and in love makes my heart
sing and play a melody that only you can
hear...for it's a song of peace and
love....may you dance to that tune for many
many moons to come....excellent writing dear
poet...you graced my heart with a smile
today~

I'll be honest. Your poem is wonderful, but I came to check this out because of your name. My ex-boyfriend's name is Terry W. We just broke up a day before our anniversary, the 13th, a day before Valentine's Day. Nice, huh? Your poem was beautiful, by the way. And now I'm off to go post my break up poem. *SIGH*

So you wrote the poem before you met the inspiration? *S* There's a great line in The Firm that goes something like "I've loved you all my life... Before I even met you, I loved the promise of you." This is great, Terry... and I hope you find much happiness in your promise fulfilled. *S*
