only on Valentines Day ...
could it be so poetically okay ...
to be so gratuitously cliche'

Come dance with me ... sweet Valentine ...
for just this night ... wont you please be mine.
Take my hand ... together we'll touch divine ...
anticipation we'll define ... Come dance with me sweet Valentine.

We'll meet in the heavens ... make love on cloud nine ...
meet me there ... where the moon and stars align.
I'll be you angel of temptation ... we'll cross desires line ...
intensity equal to the sun's shine ... come dance with me sweet Valentine.

Come kiss these lips ... sweet like raspberry wine ...
drown in my kisses ... be my taste of something fine.
Savior as lips and fingertips ... slowly trace tanned curve of spine ...
Sigh as glistening bodies entwine ... come dance with me sweet Valentine.

Surrender to this passions tide ... desire born of destiny's design.
This night promises to be sublime ... come dance with me sweet Valentine.

Janet Marie
*and raspberry muse*

~Secret Love~

Thou every word ... takes me higher ...
lights my soul ... pure poetic inspire.
Every line ... every gifted verse ...
captivates and incantates ... sweet poetic curse.

Hang the moon ... etch the sun ...
paint the twilight ... when day is done.
Write the stars ... then make them shine ...
recite the sky ... till dark and light entwine.

Ride the wind ... inhale the night ...
make time stand still ... whisper wisdom's insight.
Caress me content ... with thy touch of rhyme ...
each stroke of pen ... defines intent sublime.

Intrigued and inspired ... taken by the intensity ...
worshiped and desired ... genuflect on bended knee.
Discover thy pleasures ... in thine anticipation ...
surrender to this temptation ... born of fascination.

I'll need no other lover ... completely enchanted by thee ...
all this heart requires or desires ... is found in thy graces of poetry.

Janet Marie

JanetM~
Oh, my dear, sweet friend ......
I hope I haven't missed tooooo much in my absence
My dear, I have missed you and your lovely poetry. And I am glad that I managed to catch a glimpse of your "Sweet Cliche"! After all, us "hopeless romantics" often rely on cliche often!
Thank you for your wonderful words. Happy Valentine's Day to you, my dear!

Sweet Janet Marie~

Hun, you even make cliche phrases unique and creative, heck, I'd say that this wasn't cliche though, but, very cute and romantic   Thanks so much for this offering of your heart

Happy Valentine's Day!

Take care,
Melissa~

I feel as if I just opened a bag a sugar and gulped it down in one swoop!!!! Hey girlie......I ain't about to share in public what that first one conjurs up in the mind but I will tell ya that my hat has a new curve in it!!! If you want to be cliche' then you go right on ahead as long as it comes out like these jewels. What a perfect day to WISH I had someone here to share this with. Oh well, cowboy will just find his chocolates in the hearts of the blue pages and enjoy the peace of mind that comes in knowing that I don't have to go to bed if I don't want to. Course if'n I had a Valentine then........oh never mind LOL.....Poetry IS love anyway ain't it?

I hope that my Valentine does all those things to me tonight! Secret Valentine the imagery is so potent it makes me want to be there, in that moment you capture. Very nice work!

OK, JM....you MUST have been in my head today with the 'thou every word takes me higher...' I was JUST penning that in my head today...weird...but, anyway, this is excellent, but I guess I don't have to say that now, after all that... But, I will...fantastic imagery! I really enjoyed!

Thank you all VERY much ...
I'm ever grateful you can enjoy the "obscenely cliche'" ...
for if it werent for cliche' sometimes I think I'd have no poetry.
I was trying to write playing with all the rhyming words to go with Valentine...
and it occured to me this holiday is one of the most cliched of all.
A poets dream come true ... or worst nightmare LOL
Oh well...
I guess there are worse things a poet can be than cliche' right?
thanks guys .. always....
and thank goodness its over ... *L*
love to poetry land..

Cliche'? Why, whatever could you be talkin' about? (very innocent smile and thick southern drawl *G*) I couldn't write without them! LOL

But neither could I link them together so beautifully. *S* You and your raspberry muse did an excellent job... I especially like Secret Love. *S*

Janet my dear, Happy V-Day to you, too. As always, these are so well written. Cliche or not, your raspberry muse has blessed you, girl! Just to let you know, I'm soooo glad you're posting again. I've been dying to respond to one of your fantastic poems again. I posted my own V-Day poem (warning: shameless plug!!!)although, it's more of the breakup cliche. My former dear one and I ended our relationship a day before our anniversary, which was a day before V-Day. Look for it- (here's the shameless plug-) Best Friend, Boyfriend, Breakup (Can't I Just Get Flowers on Valentine's Like Everyone Else?!) Check it out.
Much love oh poetic one,
Krissie

You may write cliches on such a day
And when you write it's ok to say
what's in your heart that tells the truth
when those cliches flow from your youth.
they're only words and that's a fact
and when you use them from the past
it reminds us all who treasure you
how much we love the heart you use.

Hey my poet pet this is great stuff ...we're not above using the tools that sparked the interest that cultivated this style of writing we're using...love to ya and I wish you the best as always....cause you're VANtastic!!

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.
