Help!
Virginia Salter

Help
I need a new tape
this one’s hurting me again
when it starts
it rips my heart
much as a band-aid
tears apart
the skin, the hairs
the once repairs

this tape inside my head
its melancholy dread
over and over
echoing
the words of doubt
the words that sting
why can’t there be some sort of change
why can’t my thoughts be rearranged
if only feedback would fin’ly come
erase the pain
of feeling dumb

I’m up
I’m down
I’m just a clown
wearing Kelly’s face
whenever things turn out awry
of what I’d put in my mind’s eye
to expect
to really get
in the way of no regret

my idle days
in which could praise
great opportunity
find a way
to weigh on me
and mess around my sanity

I need a notching place to chip
whenever something makes me flip
with glee, with joy,
with sweet employ
that I may look and recollect
a way my thoughts to redirect

Very interesting writing. I love the emotions in turmoil feeling. May you get it all straightened out soon. Good luck.

Such urgency and desperation in this truely unique piece. I really enjoyed the read but I don't have a way to erase the tape or I would use it myself. Wonderful work in this one for sure.
