The Sunlit Sea
By WhiteKnight

Darkness, cold and frozen, no light,
Upon this starless night.
Stumbling along the eerie path,
Searching for the way.
Looking for the path that will take me to the bay,
I trip and fall many times,
But I continue with my rhymes.

I hear the sound of waves against the shore,
If only I can complete my chore.
I quicken my pace,
As the first rays of dawn light upon my face.
I have come to see the rising sun,
Hoping to catch the beauty in my mind,
Not knowing what I would find.

I stand in awe at the beauty I see,
The beauty of the sun upon the sea.
The rays of light dance amongst the waves,
Like ten thousand angles welcoming the day.
I drop from my feet,
The ground I rush to meet.

I sit upon the sand,
A pencil in my hand.
Try as I might,
I cannot find the words,
For what is in my sight.
I can only sit and think,
This day will be fine,
This day will be mine.

I stand,
For though the sea is grand,
This was not my plan.
Running now down the beach,
Soon it will be within my reach.
I jump on the peer,
Hoping that soon you’ll be near.
I stare out to sea looking to find,
The ship called “Devine”.
I pray that this will be the day,
You find your way back to me,
Upon the sunlit sea.

This was a lovely read...thanks for it..

one minor thing - should angles be 'angels'?

WhiteKnight, you did a great job! I love the feel of the water, waves, wind, Just so soothing for the mind. We are always "looking" aren't we? Hugs, ME
