What Will Be Will Be

This is the life and the times of James Lee.
The joy and happiness and the pain and misery.
Sometimes I'm incredibly happy.
Sometimes unbelievably sad.
Usually based on a relationship I did or didn't have.
Onetime I shared the magic of her kiss.
A trip to heaven wrapped in her tenderness.
Sometimes she doesn't come around and my heart misses the heaven we once found.
Sometimes I let my hope go way up to high into the silky clouds in the sky
and when the possibilities come crashing down
like a ton of brick to the ground
they seem unaware they have let me down.
Sometimes just when life is looking up
I keep looking down that highway and sure enough
I catch sight of that black Mack truck
seeming to have no other mission
then to whack me and change my luck.
So I pick myself up and I take a look around and find myself in the middle of a cold cruel world
bruised and worn with no friends around.
Onetime I shared the love of her hug.
A trip to heaven given by the giver of love.
Sometimes she doesn't come around and my heart
misses the heaven I thought I found.
Sometimes what will be will be.
Happiness is not always available to me.
Sometimes falling in love is saying goodbye.
Falling in love is not always forever in two people eyes.

That emotional rollercoaster is what I thrive on. Wonderful write. I enjoyed this one, and congratulate you on a brilliant piece.

James,

You are so right. One person cannot make a marriage work or last. Definitely takes two. Emotional writing.

Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats
