You Have to Mean to Love! Saying you love is not enough You have to mean to love Or else your message ain't through You can view love from above But unless your heart meets halfway You've accomplished nothing Love has to be meant, to reach It has to be meant, to be truth It can only be real, if hope shines Deep within your soul's heart Love is not a front, or shadow Love is a powerful blend of reality It has to last for it to be meaningful For the hurt that follows a broken dream Will destroy your self-esteem Casting neglect upon a long solitude Where trust is nothing more than a word And hope becomes the realisation That promises were unfulfilled And that love was not meant Love is never to be forgotten Love is forcasting no sorrow Love is the light within the heart Shining, rejoicing, revatilising Love is truth and hope For true love means love was meant. The entire poem is meaningful. It's simplicity at it's best. You have to "mean" it's so easy to say but sometimes when the chips are down.....it's another story. I think people get confused when they hear you have to work at a relationship to make it work. They take it that they have to work on the love part. Love when it is real will take care of itself...it is the showing of the love and the understanding that two people must share that needs to focus of the work. Wonderful poem sir. It is always a pleasure to read one of your creations. I always find a wisdom in your words that hold so true to so many and this one is no exception. |
