This is an exclusive piece that I wrote today.....yep, I mean today, as I've decided to share this new piece with you so consider yourselves fortunate cause, I rarely put out any of my new material....everything you've been reading from me is from my old poems written like five to eight months ago.....anyways, this is your typical sad love poem(yes I write love poems sometimes)...with my twist to it...I was due to post a love poem anyway.....enjoy!

Two years ago, I met this honey named Bunny
and she was very sweet, smart, and funny.
I remember that it was love at first sight
and quickly, our love ascended like stars at night.

I took her into my arms and promised her love and fidelity,
"I'll always love you, I'll never leave you," is what she would always tell me.
Yep, everything was alright, together we were gleaming in sunlight,
until she darkened my skies and said, "she's the lover of another," one night.

I tried to plead, asked her, "how could this be!"
Didn't she know she's like the air that I breathe
and without her, my heart would eternally bleed
and without her, I no longer have a need to proceed.

For two years, I loved her but, it seems like it was just one, big waste,
it seems that she was using me to catch bigger fish with her bait
cause now, she's with my ex-best friend Issac,
all this time, and I've never realized it.

Come to think of it, I remember them hugging but, I never thought about it
cause, I trusted her and if someone told me she was cheating, I would doubt it
but, the evidence is right here in front of my eyes
and I feel so bad, I think I'm gonna cry!

I feel like dirt, my feelings are deeply hurt
and all I can do, is express my pain in this verse.
I've never thought that love could hurt so bad
but it does people because, she was all I had.

Even though she should apologize, even though she wasn't right,
I've decided to hold on, stay strong, and carry on with with my life
so, surely but slowly, I walked away visibly shaken but, still alive,
slowly but surely, I will get through this, I will survive, I will survive!

Slowly but surely, I walked away with no hesitation,
Slowly but surely, I walked away with no resignation.
Slowly but surely, I walked away with no temptations.
Slowly but surely, I walked away with no stagnation.

Slowly but surely, I walked away from the darkness of her light,
and embraced the soft rays of sunlight on my face, twinkling in my eye.
Slowly but surely, the darkness has faded away, and my sun is shining bright,
and now life is alright cause, all my tears have dried, and I can no longer cry.

For sure, Nate - a sad love poem with a twist...amazing how you have adroitly combined irony, humor and pathos!
Enjoyed it!

Well, Nate, this is a different form for you, but it is great.  Nothing wrong with writing and posting the same day, now is there?  Great as usual.  Hugs, ME

"I never thought that love could hurt so bad."  Yes it does require a certain amount of strength to let go and go on...reminds me of the BeeGee song "How can you mend a broken heart" when they say "no one said a word about the sorrows".   They are there and they are very real...James
