An Angel's Betrayal

How could you go and do this
I never thought you'd be the one
To make my heart and soul feel broken
The very spirit of me is undone--

You were the one I trusted
The one I loved with all my heart
My angel that I said would never hurt me
We pledged..."till death do us part"--

I know that you need help
And that you didn't do this intentionally
But the pain is still there
Hot and searing, consuming..overwhelming--

Wishing the world would swallow me up
And everyone would let me be
When all I want is someone to love me
Now blinded by overflowing tears, I can no longer see--

You were my angel
The one I gave my everything to
Now I sit alone shattered
And to think of how much I trusted you--

Words can not describe
The dull ache that I feel
My heart, soul, body
You completely did steal

Now an empty shell of a woman
I wonder where I go from here
As I swallow back my pride
And release another tear

All I ever asked from you
Was to be honest and fair
To treat me with respect
Understand me, and show that you care

You pushed me away
To reel me back in
But always hiding who you were from me
You kept it hidden within

How do I ever love again
Who do I trust or believe
When all I know is broken
I've been tortured and decieved

I shout to the heavens
But the world has kept on turning
No one cares about me any longer
My heart forever burning

It was hard to trust in the first place
You knew how fragile I was, like finely woven lace
Might as well have took a gun to my head
Perhaps then I'd at least still have some grace

My pillow at night
And Mr Teddy Bear too
Catch all the tears that flow from my eyes
Suddenly becoming my best friends, no longer is that person you

You want to remain friends
Say that you are sorry for what you've done
Now you're going to therapy
That doesn't change a thing though, not a single one

People tell me to dust myself off
And try again at love
That I am stronger than I think
I feel weak and broken, anything but tough--

Now two angels have left me
But for very different reasons
I suppose I'm to roll with the punches
And grow and learn with the passing seasons--

After I've cried a few rivers
And my eyes can cry no more
I can face the world again
Pick myself up off the floor

Maybe I am uncapable of loving again
I suppose only time will tell
All I know right now is
My heart and soul feel like they are in living hell

I do forgive you though
And wish you another pair of angel wings to fly
But please turn around now and walk out the door
I don't want you to see me cry

p.s. im not back guys...but this had to be written.

Amy dear heart, I can so relate to this love, you have written this with passion and all your feelings and in a way it is truly an amazing piece. I'd really like to take away all the pain and the hurt from you love, but love comes and goes where it will. All I know is that right now you must feel utterly dead. If you need a shoulder then lean on me, and remember you are loved and will ever be a precious part of your family here.
Wonderful work love
Take care love

A shame you won't be back for more of these writes. This was full of emotion and a great display of facing your pain and working through it. Even if you can't post.. Keep writing..

Amy, part of the reason I was thrilled to come back was to read your poetry again, so I was really sad when you said you were leaving.  Your writing really touched me.

I feel for you though and wanted as I'm sure everyone will, to make sure you realize how much everyone cares.

From your poem I can tell your world's been shattered, which is so incredibly hard to go through.  And so you will always be in my prayers.........

And I do hope you'll come back now and then, if only for the release of writing some of your emotions out.

since you already know all I would say to this ... I will just say ...
you are much stronger and wiser than you know...
and just like your poetry never leaves you..
neither will your ability to love again.
write it out sweetie...
we heal and grow with every line ...
love ya am

Amy,

I have to respond to this.  I know about leaving Passions to take the time
to recover and heal.   Your emotional pain in these words was stabbing and real.
I too, am trying desperately not to write and post.  It’s hard, you feel alone don’t you?
But sometimes you just have to let it out and that’s what you did here!!!

Only in death do we escape the element of pain involved in loving anyone.
Only in the separation from life are we truly dead.   You are alive, and with that
comes the pain and also the increasing joy that comes with living and writing
the beautiful poetry that we are gifted wtth and can be privileged to read.

God bless you and keep you safe and know that you are not alone!

Aims, my dear friend...I really don't have much to say to this, other than you've penned your emotions excellently...and, that I know you...you are able to pick yourself up again after you're done crying, and I'll tell you what...I'll be there to help you back on your feet, BUT, I hope you already knew that.  ttys, girlie!

I can certainly understand the negativity but someone told me once that there is every emotion in poetry, I myself, haven't been wanting to bring anyone down so I completely understand this but I also know the urge and need for a writer to express is like breathing. Here anytime for you. Take care!
