Three Challenges and a Little Fun

Timing is everything
When placing duct tape
Across your own mouth
Before the words
‘I Love You’
Can escape
Telling your secret valentine
You love her
When that’s what you really want to do!
But you shouldn’t
But you can’t
Because…timing is everything
And the timings not right
When your secret valentine’s
All happily duct taped up
In a different time zone
By someone who’s not you!

i LOVE this!

hehe... i love it for a few reasons... first, it's funny, second... it's not funny... lol... and third... it reminds me of something...

ok... it's me again, doreen, rambling, and so i'll tell you what it reminds me of... (as if you really cared... *grin)... i had this boyfriend a long time ago... he used to always say to me, "so? are you going to TALK or are you going to LISTEN?"... (he was sort of the controlling sort... lol)... so anyway, i do cartooning every now and then and i did a cartoon... it was just one panel... it was me in a chair... tied down... with ropes all over me tied to the chair... and a big blindfold thingy over my eyes... and another one over my mouth... tied tight... and then i drew him, standing there with a whip in his hands... looking down at me.... with this evil grin... hehe... lol... and the caption was his words SCREAMING... "so? are you going to TALK or are you going to LISTEN?"

anyway... i thought it was funny...

and that's the third reason i enjoyed this poem very much....

thanks for meeting my challenge of timing is everything (because it is, and you met it well) and i recognized the second challenge of "secret valentine" but didn't you say this met THREE challenges?

i gave you 3 reasons i liked this... what's the 3rd challenge? did i MISS something AGAIN???? dammit!!! i guess i wasn't listening..... *sigh

I see where some think this is funny, but I couldn't help but wonder if it was a Hannibal Lechter kind of thing.

This I enjoyed, because it reminds me of my own quote at the bottom!  Well done!

If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

Thanks all for responding.  VAS, I promise it's no Hannibal thing.  Just tried to play around with some different challenges here.  Doreen the third challenge was something called duct tape across sticks by nkdthoughts (though I may have misunderstood it).  Dorreen, loved your story, too!  I don't really hate this time of year so much serenity, as I hate all the happy lovers.  Just kidding!!  Calm down!  Hey Sunshine, you're right...is kinda like your quote.  Marge, thanks for reading and responding.  I thought it was fun.

Somehow, this all fits together. And you did a great job with it!
